Type: Handicapped-accessible elevated boardwalk

Purpose: The boardwalk allows visitors to experience
the wetland in comfort while minimizing impacts to this sensitive habitat.
Description: The boardwalk will take the visitor through
a variety of wetland microhabitats including open water and perennial, shrub and tree vegetation. The elevated boardwalk will
be approximately 6' wide. One side of the boardwalk will have railings while the other side will have 2" kick boards. This
design will provide safety and allow visitors to lay down on the boardwalk to "take a closer look" at the plant and animal
community. Additionally, the railings will provide mounting locations for signs.
Features: The boardwalk will have interactive, interpretive
signage as well as a centrally located gazebo to serve as an outdoor classroom.
